A real guard in this situation is thinking a lot of things but "I hope I got the emotion in this take right" isn't one of them, so if you're thinking that it will sound wrong.

If that is a bit much for you, here's a simpler thing to imagine that will also produce the correct sound: Speak fast, speak clearly, people will die if you fail either requirement. Try to think of the people who will die, and think about how it will be all your fault if they do, because you spoke too slowly or not clearly enough. Record!
