Terror at Camp Roanoke

I'm going to put together a short pre-mystery fiction that introduces the listeners to the horrors to come. Imagine the beginning of most horror movies or horror-show episodes where we see a sort of "NPC" who gets-got by the monster, which opens up the story.
The construction foreman is by no means anything I want to overly establish as far as a specific voice or anything like that. So feel free to have fun with it and make it unique.

"Hey! We're already behind schedule why did you stop digging?"
"Oh, interesting. Yeah there's all sorts of relics that were left behind by the tribes and early settlers scattered across this island."
"There's an old legend that says that some sort of monster killed all the settlers that stayed on this island. Maybe a Wendigo!"
