Project VEIL
1vanTankist for Alexei Volkov [DEADLINE - MAY 30]
Alexei Volkov is VEIL’s primary Decommissioned Subject Handler — a sanitized title for one of the organization’s most brutal necessities. When subjects — human, hybrid, or otherwise — reach the point of irreparable failure, instability, or security risk, Alexei is deployed. He does not argue. He does not hesitate. He removes. Born in Moscow and hardened through both military and underground operations, Alexei blends cold tactical precision with an unnervingly detached approach to death. Unlike indoctrinated zealots, Alexei’s loyalty is transactional — rooted in purpose and compensation rather than ideology. He does not "believe" in VEIL’s vision. He believes in orders, efficiency, and survival. That makes him reliable. That makes him dangerous.

(To a new staffer recoiling during a cleanup — calm, low, unblinking) "You flinch now, but you’ll get used to the smell. You’ll stop seeing a person and start seeing a protocol. And if you don’t? Then you’ll end up on the floor too, bagged, tagged, and zipped by someone like me — someone who learned a long time ago that the only thing that matters… is finishing the job."
(Speaking to himself while dragging a failed subject’s body — bitter, dry sarcasm creeping in) "They always cry at the end. Doesn’t matter what they were — patient, handler, prototype. They beg. They promise they’ll be better. I nod, say nothing, pull the trigger. Because that’s my job. Not to feel. Just to make sure the crying stops."
(Alone in a debrief recording, maybe after hours — low, gravelled voice, reflective but not sentimental) "They call me the Cleaner like it’s some kind of title. Like it means I’m loyal. I’m not. I’m here because I know what happens when the mess gets left too long. People like Perez — they make the mess. People like Lilith? They pretend it's sacred. Me? I take it out back and burn it. Every time. Without fail. Because someone has to."
