Watchmen: Part II - Feature-length Visual Novel (UPDATED CALL)
David Wamala for Dr. Malcolm Long
(Heavy, friendly, kind - yet depressed tone of voice)
A psychiatrist that works for the prison Sing-Sing in New York City, and takes on the case of Walter Kovacs/Rorschach during his week locked inside of Sing-Sing, awaiting trial for his alleged murder of Edgar Jacobi/Moloch.
Malcolm experiences a vast transformation in his worldview having met Rorschach and investigated his troubled upbringing - and begins to tap into Nietzschean and Schopenhauerian themes of hopelessness and the absurdities of every day existence.
Malcolm Long gently touches darkness, and darkness forcefully touches him back - vastly changing his personality, his relationship with his job and personal life with his wife Gloria.
He dies instantly alongside his wife and three million other New yorkers when the enormous squid monster releases its shockwaves throughout half of New York, orchestrated by Adrian Veidt in an attempt to secure mankind's future.
*Recurring appearances*
PS: This is a recasting. Please view our other actor's interpretation in Part I before deciding upon which direction you'd like to venture on. You can either craft a completely different version of Malcolm, or try to adapt to the one previously.
- male adult
(Hopeful, optimistic voice - In an intervew before his worldview takes a dark, depressing turn) I HOPE TO GET TO THE CORE ESSENCE OF MR KOVACS, AND WHAT INITIALLY DREW HIM INTO THE LIFE OF A VIGILANTE, AND POSSIBLY EVEN THE LIFE OF A MURDERER. IT WILL BE A DAUNTING TASK, TO SAY THE LEAST, AND IF I AM TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THAT VENTURE, ONLY TIME WILL TELL, BUT I AM CONFIDENT IN MY ABILITIES AND VERY OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE OUTCOME. IF NOTHING ELSE, I HOPE BOTH OF US WILL LEAVE THE EXAMINATION WITH A LITTLE BIT OF CLARITY.
(Depressed voice) GLORIA, OF COURSE THAT’S WHAT I WANT, BUT, UH … GLORIA, I’M SORRY … THOSE PEOPLE … THEY’RE HURTING EACH OTHER.
(Depressed voice) GLORIA, PLEASE … I HAVE TO. IN A WORLD LIKE THIS … I MEAN, IT’S ALL WE CAN DO, TRY TO HELP EACH OTHER. IT’S ALL THAT MEANS ANYTHING … PLEASE. PLEASE, UNDERSTAND. GLORIA … I’M SORRY. IT’S THE WORLD … I CAN’T RUN FROM IT.
What a remarkable performance, David! On April 10th all the remaining roles will be cast - including this one - so stay updated on the website! Best Olle.
