(Frustrated) I am trapped here because of my own hubris. I’d thought him just a vampire. But that man - that Devil - is not to be underestimated.
(Recounting, then unnerved at the end) I was returning from my excursion to the nearest village, spell components in hand, when I spied a figure standing on the lake shore. Even then...I felt a strange aura from him. He was a shadow against the dark waters. And he was waiting for me.
(Confident, out of breath) Intriguing! It seems...this exchange...will be more interesting than I thought!
