University listening test
Michelle K for Female academic (approx age 30+)
We are a university in Germany looking for 3 voice actors to record short texts in English to be used in a listening test. They are scripted, but we'd like someone who can bring them alive somewhat as if they weren't entirely scripted (e.g. adding occasional natural fillers and intonation as if they are largely freely spoken). Any accent, also non-native accents as long as they are clear.
Can record in your own time.
This role would be for one half of a dialogue in a podcast debate. The topic is the pros/cons of taxing products high in sugar. This half of the dialogue is approximately 400 words. Female role (age approx 30+) and this person is also the host of the podcast (but doesn't need to be over the top as it is more "intellectual" in style. The dialogue is written in a way which doesn't require the text to be recorded with the other person. We will edit them together.
All that is needed is good audio quality and no background noise.
Example of text:
"But there are actually clear examples of where the tax has worked. Take Mexico, for example. After implementing a sugar tax, sugary drink consumption dropped by 7.6% in the first year alone! And more importantly though, those from lower-income households, who are often most affected by diet-related diseases, reduced their consumption even more than that. It’s a tool that can make a real difference, especially for this income group and when paired with other health initiatives."
