This fuels his sadistic tendencies and his obsession with proving his superiority, leading him to act with cruelty and indifference toward others. Langris’s desire to be seen as special and right in all things makes him volatile, with his rage easily provoked by perceived slights or comparisons to those he deems beneath him.
