The Quiet Room
Andrzej Lesiński for Cody
The main protagonist of The Quiet Room. Cody is soft spoken and gentle. He rarely speaks, and when he does, he’s audibly uncomfortable with doing so. It’s almost as if he’s whispering. This is because the story follows his journey out of the quiet room, after he’d already spent years trapped inside. Throughout the episodes, he slowly begins to warm back up to using his voice. This is portrayed through a very subtle shift in tone and a slight increase in volume.

“I- I don’t understand. What does any of that mean?”
“No… No, you’re lying. That would never work, I’ve tried! it… it never. works.”
(still quietly, but more confident tone) “I know you’re here. You can’t hide from me anymore. I’m done hiding from you.”
