The fast-talking, fearless director of the marching band. He’s an enthusiastic man with a plan, though he can be scatterbrained and moody at times. He often tries to be “hip” and progressive to appeal to the younger generations (and maybe avoid getting angry parents on his case), but this fails him more often than not.
He has a very brusque manner of speaking. His voice should be booming and commanding. A very important role. Mr. Wiley has a domineering presence whenever he appears onscreen and his voice needs to match that.
“Get set!” “One more time!” (grunt) (groan) (laugh) “Hahahahaha--no.” (incoherent screaming) (evil laughter) (sobbing)
“You have to protect your ears, especially when you’ve been doing this gig as long as I have. At thirty-three, I’m already losing my hearing. Can you believe that? And here I always thought my mind would be the first thing to go.”
(becoming livid) “Warm-up number 1. One, two, ready, and--...What. The hell. Is that. ...Yes. Yes, I am talking to you. What is that in your hand? ...And what do I keep telling you...over and over and over again? ...I DON’T CARE!”
