One of the members of the antagonistic group the Ascendants. He is the right hand man of the leader Luna and is always the one going out recruiting more people into the Ascension Network. He can be very theatrical and over the top as an antagonist, so it’s hard to tell whether his words are true or false.

Very expressive male voice. Very theatrical and playful to a point of near arrogance. He sounds like he always has a smile on his face — on the brink of a laughter — that it’s hard to tell if what he says is true or not. I’m looking for something more towards the ENG dub of Roland, but I am also very open to interpretation.

  • (Dramatic, playful) Wonder what my wish is? The end of the world, the ravages of the Punishing Virus, the suffering of all living souls on Earth... How do you like my answer? Is it in line with your perception of me?

  • (thoughtful, almost spiteful, and half playing into) Loyalty. What a good word! Stop thinking and follow the orders of others, letting them decide on what to do. Feels so easy. Oh? Don't give me that look! I was just missing a former "friend" of mine.

  • (trying to be sincere): To have a reason to live is a dream that hasn't changed for me. A play, the AscNet, they were the reasons others gave me. But now you ask me to give myself a reason? This is such a cruel thing... an honor for a jester.

Thanks for your submission as Roland! I enjoyed your playfulness in your lines, and my biggest highlight I feel was the second and third lines' performance. I loved you scoffing in the third line along with the repetition of "But now...But now". These were really good takes and it feels more natural in its performance.

Some things regarding the audition: to me, it sounded like you were trying hard to stay quiet, which hindered a bit of your performance when it felt like you could have done more. Another thing was a misread I caught in the first line, though I wasn't sure if that was more you going off script which is totally okay and it worked, but seeing as it happened twice per take, I felt that it was more of a misread than going off script, so please be mindful of that with future auditions you put in.

Because you did submit an audition prior to deadline, you're welcome to resubmit with readjustments until November 9th, but please reply and let me know if you will be doing so. Otherwise, I'm happy to have listened to your audition and thank you so much again!

Alrighty then. I'll re-record and give it another shot. I didn't want to go too overboard with the loud dramaticism to not overplay it, since the character feels sort of restrained, dramatic but calculated.

I know in the first line I had a horrible case of mistaking "ravages of the Punishing Virus" and instead I kept switching it up "punishing of the Ravaging Virus". That made me have a stupid amount of takes X>

But yes, I'll come back with a new audition before the 9th

Sounds good! Then I'll wait for your audition :> But totally understandable; sometimes the lines just mix up on your tongue when you try to speak and it gets so annoying haha

But yeah show me what you've got! I'm excited to see it :)
