RemusNeo for Jamros (Gatekeeper)
Over two thousand exist in Duncheth alone. I thank the gods that so few have any desire to leave these walls or my days would be very busy. I learn what I can.
Getting there. I know there are two ways of reading "I think the gods" and both of them are fine. 1. You can say it as if you are swearing. In a way that means, "my days are too busy as it is, I thank the gods it's no worse!" 2. Genuine gratitude, "I have the best job ever! I thank the gods for giving me the cushiest most relaxing job ever. It's so nice to be left alone with my thoughts." When I was writing, I imagined interpretation 2, but interpretation 1 is perfectly fine too. When you say "I thank the gods" I can't tell which way you meant it. That's usually a clue to me that you're just reading, not acting.
Hmm thanks for the tip, good point, I might give it another shot. :D
