Vergil is a major antagonist in the latter half of season 2. Vergil is extremely light hearted and charismatic, speaking with a warm tone with a certain posh wit to him.
Being the 9th division general, Vergil is often viewed as an incompetent commander. This isn't through his lack of tactician ability, but by him choosing to sit behind the battlelines and do nothing with his ability as the spearhead of the remaining 10 division houses. (Divisions 9 -10 and 12-19)
Vergil's notorious reputation amidst the other houses stems from his conniving, careful and opportunistic nature. Shunned for him doing nothing, Vergil waits for a near perfect chance to gain an advantage. This is helped by his charismatic demeanor, where he can walk into a room with guns pointed at him and still having his wit at the forefront.
Vergil rides on a minor role this season, but he sprawls out into a bigger acting figure in the later seasons.
