Operation: PGR Fandub Project
Brad Lane for Kamui
For this role, you may be asked to play as Camu as well. I’d love to hear an audition of both characters if you are interested!
One of the Tank Constructs of the reconnaissance squad Strike Hawk. Friendly and highly energetic, he always likes to hang around the Gray Raven, sometimes causing trouble (usually doesn’t mean to). He’s a pretty goofy character, but overall, he's very sweet and cares a lot.
Highly energetic male voice (loud and rowdy), incredibly expressive, mid to low range in tone. Can be playful but is very earnest in the way he thinks — near childlike innocent.
I’m looking for something more towards the JP voice in terms of performance, but really, all the voices in all languages are perfect, and I am happy for your own interpretation!

(Greeting, like you’re just checking in) Heyo—! Mornin’! Ready for the next battle?
(whiny, very childlike): Commandaaaant, when are you gonna take me out on another mission?!
(determined, serious) When I find the way to cleanse myself of the virus, then I will no longer need you!
Thank you so much for your interest in the project! It was cool to see your auditions for Commandant, Kamui, and Watanabe. You have a strong voice and it works really well for authoritative figures, such as with Commandant and Watanabe, and especially for lines where order needs to be given or with voices that require more angry direction in emotion. I also really loved how you did the serious take for Kamui because Kamui's a tricky one where he's this big ball of sunshine so it's hard to really think of how a goofball like him could be serious, so your take for his serious line was refreshing to see!
Some things of note: I felt like with the audio quality, it seemed like you were a little far from the mic as your voice quality was a little quiet if not echoy. I'd recommend looking for a more isolated and small area to record in to avoid these echoes that occur when recording. In addition, with auditions, it's recommended to give at least 2-3 takes per line, and make sure that each take is different from one another, such as stressing different words or emoting in a different matter that still follows the directions given. There's a lot of different things that you can around with in your voice in order to sell a certain emotion, and I feel that learning to stress the right words, pacing yourself both in reading pace or even adding pauses here and there, will allow your performance to be more natural. Also don't be afraid to get into the scene! One thing that got me was that the whining line for Kamui could have been a little more childish and the regret line for Watanabe could have used a little more sorrow in your performance. One thing I like to do for these is to imagine how the scene goes, set yourself up for what the scene is like. Even if here, I don't give you what the scene is, having a scene in your head and the reason why your character is saying it will help you get into the performance and figure out what you can do to sell that performance.
With all that said, from the takes you've given me, I can see there's potential, and if you'd like, you're welcome to send a retake of your auditions with everything I had mentioned above. Otherwise, thank you again and hope to work with you soon!
This advice is much needed any advice I will always take to heart and consideration! I have moved my microphone closed it was definitely too far away I am always worried I talk too loudly, so I will play around with audio quality and try again for Kamui and Commandant. Thank you so much for listening to my auditions!
Yeah, no worries! I also worry a lot too about talking too loudly and having my audio peak. I think one thing you can do to also help if you're worried about the audio peaking is decreasing the gain. I know that's what a lot of people have used in case of being too loud in the mic while not taking away from your ability to perform/the mic taking not picking up your performance.
I already see that you put in your retakes so I'll be going over those as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your work!
