Lydia Chrisanthus D'Norse is the 17 year old Queen of the Abandoned Order. She is the main villain and a master manipulator. She knows exactly how to twist people to get what she wants, and when that doesn't seem like an option... she has no problem disposing of those who oppose her. Her speech tends to be sickly sweet and over dramatic, and she finds joy in tormenting those who she deems beneath her (that's most people.) She is very short and petite, and though she tries to make up for that by speaking loudly and wearing voluminous ball gowns, her voice is naturally more high pitched and child like. Lydia is a central character to the story and a narrator in the final book, as such she is as big a commitment as Maggie, Elle, and Kindle. Keep that in mind when auditioning.

BONUS POINTS: Give her an accent. (French or British preferred, but I'm open to others)

  • (Mocking) "Oh, stop being so dramatic, will you?” (sigh) "I only gave you a tiny dose, not nearly enough to kill you. Just enough to remind you who you're dealing with.” (giggle) "The only side effects you may suffer are severe pain... from your annoying whimpering I'd say that's already hit... and maybe some hallucinations. No big deal, really."

  • (Angry, insistent shriek) "There is!” (pause, take a deep breath, continue in a forced gentle tone.) "There is. You have just become a... momentary distraction, that's all. Once you’re dealt with, he’ll come back to me, and everything will be as it should."

  • (Lydia as a six year old child in a flashback, try your best to sound like a little girl.) "I want my Daddy! He said he'd come for me when the war ended! He... he promised!"

oh I love this! My only complaint would be to be a bit more full-voiced angry with the "There is!" and not as squeaky with it, and then have the rest of that line be a bit more like she's trying to regain her composure and laugh it off. Lydia tends to always hide behind a veneer of calm control, but in that moment it becomes a bit cracked. But really, amazing audition and solid accent :D

Thank you very much! I'll try rerecording the second line and see what you think.
