NOTE: This role is only a cameo role, with the only line in the whole story being the audition line featured here. However, the actor cast may be called back in the future if this character reappears in another story later on.

Cayde-6 is a Hunter Guardian and the Hunter Vanguard Leader, as well as being a cameo role within this story. Cayde only appears at the end of the story for a single line after Elisabeth is brought to the current Destiny 2 timeline. Prior to this, in the dark future timeline, it’s implied that Cayde is dead, just like his fellow Vanguard member Ikora Rey. Cayde’s death weighs heavily on Zavala, and is part of the reason he is so cynical within the story.

Cayde is the heart and soul of the Vanguard’s leaders fireteam. As the leader of the Hunter class of Guardians, he represents all that Hunters are: flashy, quick-witted, and perhaps a little too loot obsessed. However, without him the Vanguard never quite feels complete. Cayde’s comedic relief is a much needed reprieve from the serious scenarios the Vanguard deals with on a daily basis. Despite his jokey nature, when the going gets tough, you can guarantee Cayde will be right there alongside you, fighting till the bitter end. Being able to balance Cayde’s comedic relief alongside his deep care of his fellow Guardians is essential for this role.
