Anastasia “Ana” Bray is a Hunter Guardian and the deuteragonist within this story. After losing her connection to the light prior to the story, she intends to seek out and learn the powers of Stasis from her sister, Elisabeth Bray. Elisabeth is very adamant about not letting this happen, as she’s seen what this dark power has done to her sister in previous timelines. However, Ana being the guardian that she is, intends to go against her nature and learn this dark power in order to defend her and her family… even if it comes from the worst of detractors
.

Ana is very much the opposite of her sister. While Elisabeth is very cold and mysterious, Ana presents a very warm presence as a protector of all people. She believes in the best of humanity, and wants to do all she can to protect it. This sentiment even rang true before Ana’s resurrection as a Guardian, as she used her position at Braytech to help teach the powerful AI Warmind Rasputin about humanity, eventually leading to it becoming a protector of the Sol System far into the future, same as Ana. She knows what’s right and is always willing to fight for it, no matter the cost, which makes her moral heel turn within this story all the more jarring. Being able to capture her warm demeanor with the ever creeping hint of darkness as the story continues is essential to this role.
