Melanie was initiated into her life of crime at an early age; because her family was "uproot[ed] every few weeks", her social life suffered, and she never had a chance to make permanent friends. She eventually grew weary of her lifestyle, becoming the only malcontent member of the gang. Ten played a vital role in the team, as she was in charge of overriding the security systems of the places they robbed. However, she was notably less ruthless than her father.

Not anymore. Terry McGinnis : Then why's everybody after you? Melanie Walker : Because I was forced to rob a big poker game by the Jokerz. They're holding my family. Terry McGinnis : I... think we'd better call the police. Melanie Walker : Don't you get it? If I do that, the Jokerz will kill them!
