Ecolo is a mysterious dark character who first appears in Puyo Puyo 7 as the main antagonist. He is an entity known as the "Wanderer of Worlds" that can traverse dimensions to his liking. Due to the nature of being a spacetime traveler whose existence conflicts with the laws of spacetime, memories of his existence are easily forgotten by most. Ecolo is very whimsical and adores fun. He adores playing with others and sharing fun (even if involving the misfortune of others), but has difficulty exercising restraint. After losing his memories temporarily at one point, he plans to spread happiness but tends to be over the top, and occasionally endangers worlds or pushes Ringo's personal boundaries. Despite no one knowing what he actually is, he does possess the ability to possess others and use their bodies to manipulate he dubs as "playing with them".
