INFORMATION

Nova is a strong woman who's statuesque and proud. Whenever she's in a room with other people she exudes an extreme amount of confidence, even if she's literally saying she's unsure about things. She tries to be a very loving woman, but it's not often seen when she's talked about by other people--or even from her actions. Nova worked hard to get where she is and to help get her family rise to the level she wanted it so that's a bit of a reason why she can seem dark, or evil. She has finally retired from her agency and is  trying  to relax more and become a much calmer version of her former self. She is more level headed now but retains a scary type of seriousness about anything commits herself to, whether it be just a conversation or acting out a plan. She isn't very emotional at all, tending to come off as a bit cold, but that is the farthest from the truth in reality. 

VOICE
Nova's type of speaking is very even and calm. You should seem confident and sure of every word that you're saying. She should sound almost regal and pristine, not rushing her words or seeming uncertain. She would be in the lower range but, as before, any range you would like to try is accepted. 


Nova can have any accent. But I would love to heard some kind of African interpretation if anyone thinks they can pull it off. If not, that is also fine. 

  • [understanding] I cannot blame you for being so surprised. It was something I was trying hard to fight against with him. In the end I failed. And with his new found freedom he has forgotten where he’s come from--or better yet, what I have taught him. I need you to keep him on the right track. The boy worries me. You understand the stakes, I hope?

  • [laughs warmly] I see you worry just as much as you did even all those years ago. Everything has been set up. If you wish to bring your sister then you may, I will not stop you. Tuition has been talked out between myself and the Dean. You are a special exception to the rules due to me. I will have to ask you not to get into too much trouble that I won’t be able to solve.

  • [sighs, sad] I suppose not. But...it’s been so long, has it not? I’m getting old, you know. One day I will die. Do I really want to die carrying a grudge to a place where I will never be able to forgive that person? In a state where I will never be able to let go of it all?

I adoooooooooooooooooooore your voice and accent for Nova. The only tips I can really give is to try reading through the lines a bit more so that the emotion hits home and to help smooth out the delivery. All the lines had the right delivery, the right emotion, the right inflection. I'm super impressed with this. Great work! P.S. your laugh in the second line was perfect
