Kell is a young, impressionable Trill who was rejected from joining because of her lack of familial social standing—though she was told it was due to a genetic mis-match. She dedicated her life to becoming joined and the rejection of her application caused her great distress, which made Kell the perfect mark for the enigmatic and charming Wren symbiote.
Wren is an ancient, traumatized Trill symbiote who overwhelms and suppresses the personality and needs of his hosts. After he joins to Kell he uses the young host's body to carry out his desires instead of blending properly to the humanoid. He is determined, murderous, and filled with righteous fury.
Note: The actress playing Kell/Wren Kell will be the main antagonist for the rest of the season.
