Peter Marshall is the former first mate of an esteemed shipping captain who finds himself stuck on Northern Ness Island, Scotland, following the call for his removal. He is bitter towards other characters at first, especially towards his new partner, due to his reserved feelings of loneliness. He suffers immensely from the sudden change in surroundings and is often startled by the sounds of the lighthouse. Following his noticing of the crash, he takes on a sobering personality and becomes more stoic and protective of his partner and of the lighthouse.
