Itsoe is a member of the Brillar, an original alien species created for this story. The Brillar are a Bipedal seahorse like race that has bioluminescent skin which is why they are hated by the Ganuwa, a race they share a planet with. Itsoe is a young woman who stands up and helps to bridge the gap between living on Oa (the Green Lantern home world) and living on the Brillar's home planet. She also tells us a lot about the Ganuwa who are our villains for this piece. She's very aware of her own people's history and is able to tell us a lot.

Itsoe should have a very sympathetic voice. She's our best insight to the hell her people have gone though to end up as refugees on Oa and we need to get a lot of mileage out of everything she says to best relate to her people. This role needs to be able to deliver a lot of emotion in not a lot of direct character dialogue. Most of what she has to say is not about herself but about her people in general so big stakes here. Approach this role as if you are the voice for a people in exodus.

  • Living under the shield and the walls going back many generations the
    reality of our cooperation with one another in order to insure our own
    survival was obvious. (Discussing how her people live, a matter of fact
    sense of sympathy and cooperation needs to be shown existing in her
    culture).

  • So then we are doomed. We won't be able to eat. That's the only food
    resource we had for generations. (Genuine dread, as if you just found
    out you're going to starve to death)

  • Now we have fled again. Saved by the Green Lanterns. I do not mean to
    sound ungrateful. But the Ganuwa come. They always come. (Super
    ominous, as we're setting up the villain of the piece).
