Dr. Melvin Hoffman is a best friend of Richard Snyder since they met in college. He is a middle aged man who often times gives his friends advice and a listening ear. He has two sons, but lost his wife many years back to cancer. He is a brilliant psychologist who lives alone in his home in the same city as Richard. He is a chubby friendly man who is also down to earth.
"Well, it is not recommended, but have you tried substituting the problem? A lot of my patients that quite smoking generally pick up a new habit. Most of the time it is as simple as gum, but other times it is not much for the better like a different narcotic. Some kind of distraction could help ease your little problem."
Melvin: You look lost my friend.Richard: I'm just having a little trouble with my daughter.Melvin: I didn't know you had a child.Richard: I didn't know I had a child. She just popped up out of nowhere. The least Aurura could have done was told me she was pregnant before she left.Melvin: I understand troubled times. Is she not warming up to you?Richard: I belive so, but that's not the issue. She sits in her room and does nothing other than play video games.Melvin: She's a kid, they do things like that.
