Green Lantern Audio Drama
fairfieldfencer for Ganthet
Ganthet is one of the Guardians of the Universe. The Guardians created the Green Lantern Corps to serve as a force for good and protection across the universe. Ganthet however often finds himself at odds with his fellow Guardians due to wanting to connect more emotionally with members of the corps. In this story that is very much the case as we see him butting heads with fellow Guardian Appa about Rot Lop Fan's status in the corps. Ganthet very much would like to keep Rot Lop Fan in but has to fight for it. Though due to the need to keep up appearances this inner conflict is all done through subtext and performance.
Ganthet (as well as the other guardians) needs to sound old, but wise. Ganthet in particular needs to have an inherent kindness in his voice and a sense of understanding/reassurance. Grandfatherly
You'll forgive us for having a hard time believing that after serving
for so long you have now become a danger to the corps. (Bit of a scoff
but not dismissive. Attempting to be reassuring via doubt.)That much is apparent. But ours has not. (Replying to Rot Lop Fan saying his decision has been made. Said with some finality.)
Is negligible compared to the benefits gained by your presence in the
Corps. As Guardian Sayd stated; without the Central Battery the Corps
still functions, without the rings the Corps can still function as a
force for good in the galaxy. The greatest asset of this Corps is its
diversity. (First part of a big monologue. Very important thematic
point in the story. In reply to Rot Lop Fan claiming he poses a danger
to the Corps by continuing to be in it.)
