Green Lantern Audio Drama
lemurlord for Salaak
Salaak is a Green Lantern and serves as the intermediary between the Corps and the Guardians. Though at times he's a glorified secretary. Something he doesn't care to admit. Salaak is very prim and proper, by the numbers and bureaucratic. He wants things done by the book and on schedule. He however is quick witted with a very dry sense of humor. In this story he serves to inform Rot Lop Fan of his duties and help explain the main conflict between the Brillar and the Ganuwa.
I will fully admit I was imagining David Hyde Pierce while writing this. That being said please don't just do an impression of Niles Crane. Salaak should sound very uptight and a little smug but not in a way that makes him unlikable...more in a way where it takes a little bit of effort to get to like him. A lot of his lines are written with a single word reacting to the dialogue said to him, followed by a sentence or so of response. The initial word should serve to summarize his feelings toward what was said, or what he's about to say.
Alarming. Bell 911.1, we don't normally receive you at the citadel of
the guardians. Please state the reasoning behind this visit.
(Matter-of-factly. Like he's taking a survey?)Perfection. I'm never going to let him live that down. (Stifling a
laugh, reacting to something gossip worthy about another lantern, but in
a good-natured humors way. See page 18 for full context.)Riveting. In any case the earthlings call it Bioluminescence. (This is
here for the first word, needs to be delivered with loads of dry sarcasm,
then the sentence continues on as exposition).
