Role assigned to: Maiden Melody

The other protagonist of the musical (and the one who it's named after), Chara is a bit snarky and at first mistrustful, helping Frisk out of obligation since they're stuck together,  She really opens up to Frisk over time however, and begins to see her almost as a sibling.

Also, since she and Frisk are main characters and thus there's a good amount of interaction, be prepared to sing a few songs. After all, the musical has her namesake—or rather, role-sake.  As Chara is in a large percentage of the songs, a wide range is good, and be aware that there is one song in particular that Chara gets that is pretty high. So keep that in mind when auditioning!

  • (Just before Flowey sings in Your Best Nightmare, right after Frisk asks for advice on beating Omega Flowey) Yeah, I've got advice: Try not to die.

  • You have everyone, Frisk. Who do I have?!... (sighs) You have people who love you... and care about you... They don't even know I exist, you're the only one who can see me...

  • (Sing any song - see description for specifics)

.... "Permission to squee, Captain?" "Permission granted." "Thank you." *squees like crazy* Thesongchoiceandthedeliveryand— "JoyStar!" "Right, right, sorry!" Yeah, as if you couldn't gather from my Star-Trek-style exchange there, I really liked this! The moment you started singing, I inwardly screamed in glee—not only is Anastasia one of my favorite movies, but that song fits SO perfectly for Chara and Frisk in this! I noticed that you went a bit lower on the word "start", though I'm guessing your range is alto-ish, and you seemed to put a little bit of emphasis on the word "and" as the first word of the chorus, but that's a minor nitpick and something that is likely easily fixable. :) As for the lines, your second take on the first line was definitely my favorite since the nervous laughter definitely gave a tone of "I'd help you if I could but I don't know what the heck to do!!", a bit more caring then just "I'm out, you're on your own" (though either one can work). On both takes on the second line (especially the second half of the first one), no joke, I started tearing up. The emotion you put in your voice was great, and I just wanted to reach through the screen and hug Chara. Thanks for auditioning!

Aw, I'm glad it made you happy. :) The moment I heard it I was like "Okay, I have to respond to this, like NOW, while the first-impression emotions are still fresh!" XD And glad you liked the Star Trek exchange, that was honestly just the first thing that popped into my head and I'm a Trekkie, so yeah. XD

Forgot to ask by the way, can you do higher notes? Thought I'd ask because Chara and Frisk have a duet of Fallen Down and there are a few higher notes near the end, and the notes you sang were on the lower end. Also another point I forgot to add, I feel like there could have been a little more emotion in the first part of the second line, but the second half was really good. :)

Thank you for the feedback in terms of the second line. And Yeah I can definitely do high notes! Would you want another audition showing this?

If you really want to and it wouldn't be too much trouble on your part, sure, be my guest! :) I just noticed that you went lower on some of the notes for At the Beginning so I was concerned the higher ones weren't in your range. :)
