Dan is a family man.  A work from home tax accountant.  And an a uber-paranoid doomsday prepper who's spent the last ten years building a bunker in his back yard.  Energetic, smart, and necrotic.  I kind of pictured him as a Tim Allen / Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor type character.
