Princess Akane is a powerful ice mage, about 16, and although she may come off as cold-hearted, she means well. Akane wants peace in the world, but doesn't like sitting around waiting for it to happen. She's constantly upset with how calm her sister and the Queen is about everything happening and is eager to leave the city to fight for her people where her magic is needed more.
I could see the fire from my bedroom, Gallax! I just don't trust the safety of this city with the guards we have. Especially when it's taken this long to take care of just a few pirates.
Gallax. Morale?! Really? We're not exactly in a time of peace right now. If they didn't want to be yelled at, they shouldn't have registered to become guards. And what's this about being low manned? We're more than capable of hiring more guards for the city.
