Background Artist Role.

Background Artists are in charge of creating the environments for the game!

Artist Requirements.

The game will not have crazily complicated backgrounds as that will detract from the actual game, but will nicely complement it. The GDD has some examples if you are interested in looking at them (they are under Background References in the Game World section).

Note, in this role there will be a lot of back and forth on how it looks, what changes need to be made, etc. So if you struggle with taking criticism/would like criticism delivered in a particular way, please inform me and I'll do my best to accommodate you!

As this is for a demo, time isn't much of a restraint to us as we'll be going back and forth on a lot of things, but keep in mind that for the final product I will be inviting back all of the original team (plus some more hopefully). This means that when working on the final game we'll have stricter deadlines and faster turnarounds (though not without reasonable times).

For your application, I will need a resume and portfolio of relevant artwork, as well as examples of game backgrounds you have done in the past. If you have not worked on a game before or have not created a game background before, please inform me and take the time to either create a mockup and send it through with your application, or refer me the closest example in your application.

About Payment.

 The rate listed is just a rough estimation of how much I can pay, but I am very much willing to go a lot higher if the right artist comes along, so please keep that in mind.

Payment is discussed and agreed upon before each project (aka artwork), and unless there's a very good reason for it, I will not negotiate a change in the agreed upon price. (Note, all discussions of payment/agreement of payment will be recorded and saved.)

If you are chosen for this project, please be aware that you will be required to provide an invoice each time you have completed a project.
