(calming down someone during a trial) Calm down. There's no need to get emotional, just state the facts. What happened?
(semi sadly, reflective) I have been thinking about my father a lot since we got in here. I don't know if he knows where I am, or if I'll see him again. I just hope he's alright. He's all alone now with no one to take care of him.
