Antigone is a strong-willed teenage girl who is fiercely loyal to her family and her beliefs, even in the face of death. She is willing to defy authority to follow her conscience.
Character note: She is also grieving the death of her two brothers.

(her sister just told her she will not help her bury her brother because its against the law) “You have made your choice, you can be what you want to be. But I will bury him; and if I must die, I say that this a crime against the gods: I shall lie down with him in death, and I shall be as dear to him as he to me. I may die a criminal, but I will at least be a religious one.”
(ending the argument with her sister) “ Go away, Ismene: I and the dead will hate you soon, For your words are hateful. Leave me with my foolish plan”
