Episode supporting role (27 lines). Guest author at the Midnight Pals' campfire, here to tell the pals his famous gothic story - has a few scenes with the pals, and also narrates between scenes of the Jekyll and Hyde story itself. Portrayed as a San Francisco hipster—very high opinion of himself, thinks the fact he's been "traveled" a lot makes him culturally and spiritually aware, prides himself on being into non-midtown stuff and getting into things before they're cool. Proud of the shock twists in his stories—like that Jekyll and Hyde are the same person, or that Long John Silver in Treasure Island is a pirate—and gets irritated when he learns everyone sknow them already.

Accent note: Stevenson could either be played with a Scottish accent (where he was born) or San Francisco (where he lived for a while)/West Coast American, but the most important thing is to come across as an up-himself hipster.

  • (AFTER CLIVE BARKER'S SHENANIGANS HAVE CAUSED STEVENSON TO FALL INTO A RIVER) You think that’s funny? I had to go round half the second hand stores in the Mish to find this velveteen jacket. It’s ruined... or maybe it’s weathered-look. Yeah, I could get away with that.

  • (NARRATING THE STORY) Henry was a respectable London doctor, specialising in mental healthcare for the chronically rich. Edward was his reckless cool friend who often peer-pressured Henry to follow him into dangerous situations. And this particular situation was a dangerous one indeed. They were on the very top of Tower Bridge.

  • (TALKING ABOUT THE "TWIST" IN TREASURE ISLAND) Yeah! They meet this real nice old man, Long John Silver, and out of nowhere, he turns out to be... I'm not gonna say it in case anyone hasn’t read it yet, but... (SOMEONE INTERRUPTS WITH "HE'S A PIRATE".) Dude! You spoilered it again! Obviously it's a twist! No intelligent reader would suspect he's a pirate. He's so chill and friendly. He calls everyone matey. He's even kind to animals. He loves his parrot!
