Volo is a Gingko Guild Member though he is rarely ever seen with others of his faction. He is ultimately the bad guy of the entire story. He is a supportive recurring character throughout the main story, providing lore of Hisui and skills for catching Pokemon. During the part of the story when MC is banished by Kamado. Volo is the only one to take them in and introducing them to Cogita. He appears as a friendly face and perhaps sounds mysterious in his talking, even when he's just making conversation, it seems like he has a hidden agenda. His true persona is revealed at the very end of the his story and becomes more manic and obsessive about achieving the power of Arceus.

I was the one who gave you the chance to claw open that space-time rift, driving the deity of space and time mad so that you could drag the creator out from hiding!" "How? How could this happen?! Almighty Arceus, if you have any heart within you, then tell me..." "The blood of the ancient Sinnoh people flows in my veins, does it not?! What is it, then, that you find so lacking in me?!"
