The Fiona Five: A High School Comedy (Original RadioPlay)

JESSICA PEREZ (Female; 16 years old; wearing red) - The voice of The Fiona Five, Jessica (or Jessie as she prefers to be called) is of Mexican decent (though it must be noted that she does NOT have any over-exaggerated accent) and is defined by her quick wit and personable demeanor. Her parents are successful lawyers, so Jessica is also rich, but has a better understanding of the middle class than her friends do. Her dream is to become the first female President of The United States, so she's very involved with school events. Jessica is a thrill-seeker, but she is often subdued by The Fiona Five's posh code. In public, she is Fiona's support, but in private, she arues with Fiona and Olivia all the time. She has a stronger connection to Ayla.
Voice: I modeled Jessica after Rita Moreno. Again, to emphasize, she was born in America, as were her parents, so she doesn't have a noticeable Mexican accent. However, if you can speak some Spanish, I might have her say more Spanish phrases occasionally as she does have a connection to her heritage. She's upscale, but still somewhat street-smart.
NOTE: There may be a couple spanish phrases that she says.
- (Narration) "You could say I was in direction competition with some wealthy Guera named Fiona Winston over who was the most popular girl in campus. It's like we were both running for office. Fiona eventually invited me to join her "Exclusive club", probably do away with the competition so she could reign queen as most popular girl in school. 'If you can't beat em, join em' kind of thing."
- (After Ayla has introduced Kelsey to the Fiona Five, and Fiona gestures for Jessica to represent the group as she usually does). "Nice to meet you Kelsey, or meet you again. Any friend of Ayla's is a friend of The Fiona Five. Oooh, nice gloves. We always love seeing our fellow student wearing formal gloves. It's so rare to find these days. Kelsey, if you'll excuse us, we have very important business to attend to. I hope you don't mind us whisking away your lab partner. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon. Here's to a wonderful Junior year."
- (Arguing with Fiona over Kelsey in private) "Fifi, I don't want to deal with this bs much longer. Here's an idea. Invite her to be interviewed like everyone else. Ask her the same dumb questions you asked my friends, and make a decision based on that. Comprende?"
