The only surviving robotic copy of Sonic, who has developed both an inferiority complex towards his original, as well as a messiah complex due to his status as the only android capable of individual thought (outside of Omega, as Tikal and Omochao are souls inside of mechanical vessels). He strives to be what he believes is “The REAL Sonic”, who is a free spirit that takes what he wants and defines right from wrong. While he is very arrogant, his inferiority complex causes him to usually resort to underhanded tactics, such as copying abilities from other characters in an attempt to gain the upper hand. He has a complicated relationship with Dr. Eggman, though the two mostly seem to get along.

While Metal lacked a voice outside of Sonic Heroes, he has an active speaking role in this series. He mimics Sonic’s voice and annunciations, but lacks the vocal range. For example, he would try to sound like Jason Griffith’s Sonic, but not exactly on the same pitch. Any voice would do so long as it’s mimicking his speech pattern.
