D&D One-Shot: Rhoux Mar's Ruin
Bekah for Pierre Mar
Pierre Mar (Undetermined Pronouns) is the heir of Rhoux Mar (Xe/Xyr/Xey/Xem) and Litrix Bugoden (Zhey/Zhem/Zhyr). Pierre loved theatre and would hold personal shows in the Great Hall in the Mar's personal quarters where Pierre would berate the thespians from the lower classes that did not meet expectations, to the point of spilling their blood on stage during fits of rage. Generally, abusive and spoiled to death.
Busts of Pierre always show the heir with longer sideburns than Pierre actually had, as was common for royal beauty standards in Caerleon - to have more hair on the side of your face was a symbol that you had time to grow it out or money for sideburn extensions.
This part would be for 1 or 2 "reviews" of plays that Pierre left in the ruins of the Mar's personal quarters in the Great Hall, an order to kill Georguy Morley, and possibly some excerpts relating to other characters' interactions with Pierre during the Mar reign over Lingitoft.
If you aren't sure on how a word is pronounced, just give it a go anyway. Pierre wouldn't care about pronouncing something correctly. Stuff in (parentheses) are notes on how to pronounce some things though, you dont need to read those out loud.
Pierre sounds posh, with elements of Californian mixed in, and Pierre has a plotting, croaky undertone when Pierre talks. Mid-High is what I'm looking for, no such thing as female or male voices. Good luck!

[Smugly, giving an announcement to nobles and the High Guard in the High Hall] Georguy Morley has been found guilty of High Treason on all accounts by order of the Royal Bloodline. Xur (Z-uhr) "critiques" of the Monarch's recent legislature have shown to directly influence countless conspirators' efforts to overthrow the established order, and thus, Xe is a threat to all of Lingitoft from henceforth and onward. Xe is to be sentenced to death upon capture, regardless of capture or not.
[Non-cholent, used to this, slowly becomes prideful and reveling] "Path to Dontloff (DOHNT-loff)" was rather irritating as a comedy, and I found it particularly wounding that I was supposedly the twist villain when it was so obviously set up to be the Wizard from the start. Felt like a needless sidestep to push some grand narrative against the Monarchy, but Dontfolk know better I'm sure. Need I remind the writers that the Mar Family has ruled with dignity and grace over Lingitoft for generations personally? The troupe that was supposedly "Dontloff's Honor" proved unwilling to recite monologues with their heads buried in barrels of molasses, and thus I can only rate the play a 2/10 as my ears weren't blessed by Harengeffy's sweet soliloquies, but by thick and slow bubbles at the top of dirty barrels. Dontloff has always enjoyed playing pranks on me, as I am the youngest of the Monarchy, and I have always found it good fun between us two states of unmatched power. Next time, Dontfolk, send a troupe of Merfolk or Lingfolk to rise to the occasion. Until then, you will not be receiving your monthly rations or aid from The High Guard. -PM
[Disgusted, nearly screaming like a kid on xbox, pitying the acting troupe] I am utterly appalled at the absolute heresy set before me on stage this night. As I write this, the play is paused, Lolth's actress gloating midair with the help of some Low Ranking High Guard Lackeys' backs and 2 stilts - because of course they couldn't befriend a giant to play a larger character, amateurs. These heathens from the south district think it mighty of themselves to pretend that Lolth is the God of Death in this day and age! Lingitoft (LINJ-ih-toft) has always prided itself on the freedom to worship whatever pantheon a citizen may so choose within reason and proper approval and jurisdiction, but to worship a god who lost the domain of death? It's as if the writers are wishing for immortality through the subtext, and while it's true that Lolth's followers and I don't get along well, that has little to do with the matter and the utmost to do with the fact that Lolth is a failure and anyone who worships Lolth is inherently failing! Especially at following High Law! Prayers to Lolth are specifically not protected when presented in theatre or 2nd person media. To not see this is to not see the sun rise! UGH! Let them eat cake, xey (z-ay) said... well, South District's been eating! A cake full of BULL SHIT! Needless to say, if these thespians can not save this play with improvisation, they truly were never of the craft to begin with and should be sentenced to proper disposal for lying to royalty. I doubt they had any mind to the crimes they are portraying, with the state of South District's trade, these people are just grasping at roles. Here's hoping I needn't release the hounds again. It really does bring out the emotion when you have 3 Dire Wolves pumped full of Sorceric (Sors-ehrik) Compound nipping at your feet in the pit! And whoever's publishing this, make me sound like I give a damn if these people live or die or I'll fucking find you. -PM
I like how much you gave to this performance, you have the tone right on target, but your mic is peaking, you're audibly varying distance from your mic, and you paused between Lackey's and Backs which really took me out of the moment. Like I said, though, you got the whiney, rich tone down. If you were to re-audition, I'd work on internalizing the lines as if you are saying them from your own mind instead of from a script once you've chosen them, and learning how your individual setup can modulate gain and compression, or working with your mic to find that perfect distance where you're audible but not tearing and peaking. Audacity has built in effects to help with loudness normilization, and programs like logic or streaming softwares have audio filters that can make you sound like professional radio hosts in terms of mic quality. Can't wait to see what you make next!
