Spider-Man: The Audio Drama - Pilot Episode
TatsuoMumbi for Gwen Stacy
Gwen is in her late teens, one of the smartest kids in her school. Raised by a police captain, she's always been a very "good girl", all about following the rules and towing the line, while internally yearning to break free and do more than just be the perfect child. (Yes, this *is* something of a critique of Gwen's pure white light portrayal from the early comics, how did you know? :p) When Mary Jane comes on the scene, it forces her to confront both her own long-denied feelings for her best friend Peter, as well as the fact that she's been holding herself back for so long. This is a girl who's discovering she's not too happy with the path that has essentially been chosen for her in her life, and figuring out what she wants to do next.

[Worried about Peter, trying to get him to open up about his state of mind in the wake of his Uncle Ben's death-- a little frustrated, but still supportive]
Peter, come onnnnn! This is what I mean. English lit is one thing, but I can't remember the last time we were in a chem class where you weren't paying rapt attention.[Having just seen a creep rage out on Harry, needing a moment to collect herself]
That guy creeped me out. You two go ahead. I'll-- I'll catch up with you in a minute. Just going to run to the ladies' room.[Our version of Gwen does *not* like MJ initially, getting all the wrong vibes off of her from the jump. There's a little wariness here, a little contempt-- and a touch of jealousy, seeing Peter *immediately* taken with her. For context, this is right after MJ says "My friends call me MJ". So... the use of her full name here is very catty and deliberate.]
Hi, Mary Jane. Harry hasn't told us a whole lot about you.
