Sergeant Russel is the replacement for the Colonel, and is a tough character who spent a lot of time as a mercenary before joining the force at Spectacle Island and becoming Alex's second in command. Welcome to Spectacle Island, (your choice of insult here)! You all came here from the furthest backwoods corners of the Commonwealth expecting to become adventurers? Don’t make me laugh. I hope you’ve all gotten attached to those pipe pistols you managed to jimmy together back home, because that’s all you get until you’ve finished your training.
(as in conducting a mission briefing) The people of this settlement are outside the reach of the minutemen. We’ve been contracted to help shore up their defenses and deal with the local raider that’s been harassing them.
(wearily) That’s right. One of them. They call him the “little yao guai,” don’t ask me why. Got the whole settlement scared shitless though.
