"Worlds Apart" Book Trailer
Brian C. Sundin for Francis Vogel
The narrator of our story. A young man of 18 who is on the verge of graduating high school, yet still not quite sure what he wants to do with his life. He's a varsity athlete on the football team, he gets good enough grades, and he's pretty certain he wants to go into the Air Force, but he struggles to find a "purpose" to it all. He struggles to find meaning in his life. But that doesn't mean he's not excited to live.
Francis should be tired-- not depressed, per se, just a bit tired, the way you would be if you stayed up too long and then tried to have a phone call. His voice is slower and on the deeper end of the spectrum, he speaks very casually no matter what he's saying and doesn't exactly worry about being "posh" or "proper", but you can obviously tell that he's a mature young man. Francis won't come off as awkward, in fact he comes off as rather suave and confident, maybe even a little cocky and condescending, but he always means well and doesn't want to offend anyone. He never shows much excitement in his voice, but he does have a strong sense of nostalgia and enjoys reminiscing about the past.
He's from the American Midwest, and his parents are German immigrants. Don't try to force an accent onto him, but if one comes naturally and enhances your take, go for it.

I never had a bad life. No, no, not at all... I got pretty much everything I ever wanted. My grades were great, not perfect, but... Good enough. My parents loved me, I had a wonderful group of friends, and the best hometown I could've ever asked for.
You're about to hear a story. In retrospect, I'm... Not all too proud of what I did. *Chuckle.* But this story needs to be told, and hey, if I'm not gonna tell it, who is?
This is a story of love... And friendship... It's about failure, and mistakes, and it may not have a very happy ending... It's a story about technology. And the internet. And about how my life changed forever on the day I got my first laptop.
