Joshua is Neku's second partner. He is sly and clever, deriving enjoyment out of teasing others. He is Shibuya's Composer, and is Neku's killer; he brought Neku into the Reapers' Game to be his proxy in his game against the Conductor. Joshua is extremely intelligent, boasting a refined taste in addition to vast knowledge of both the Realground and the Underground. Unfortunately, these traits are often overshadowed by his air of arrogance.
Joshua has a slightly more effeminate voice than Neku's, and is often teasing.

Everyone has their own little internal world-- a secret garden only they can enter. Each world follows its own internal logic--individuality. And the logic of one world means nothing in another. Understanding other people isn't hard, Neku. It's impossible.
