BOY soprano (FEMALES OR BOYS WITH UNCHANGED VOICES)

PLEASE AUDITION SINGING A SONG YOU THINK APPROPRIATE FOR LITTLE ASRIEL.

Please do not audition for this part if you are a male with a changed voice, and/or if you are also auditioning for Flowey/Big Asriel.

NOTE!  I would like Chara to be pronounced to sound like Car-a, as in car.  The word cara means friend in Irish, and I am a firm believer that Undertale is based off of Irish mythology.

Little Asriel is simply Asriel as a child.  I am looking for someone who is able to bring child-like wonder to the character, but also be able to portray his overwhelming trauma in the end.  If you can cry (or at least sound like you are), please let me know, or even demonstrate so in the audition.

I am fine with any accent so far, but our Toriel may go with a British accent.  I'm interested to see how Little Asriel with a British accent would sound, but please only use a British accent if you are truly able to pull it off.

  • Finally.  I was so tired of being a flower.

Howdy!  Chara, are you there?  It's me!  Your best friend!

  • What?  Oh, yeah, I remember.  When we tried to make butterscotch pie for Dad, right?  The recipe asked for cups of butter, but we accidentally put in buttercups instead.  Yeah!  Those flowers got him really sick.  I felt so bad.  We made Mom really upset.  I should have laughed it off, like you did.  Um, anyway, where are you going with this?

  • I always was a cry baby, wasn't I, Chara?  I know, you're not actually Chara.  Chara's been gone for a long time, now.  What... what is your name?

    "Frisk"?  That's a nice name.

The sadness that you had in those lines was astounding, but then it made the second line sound like there was a bit of sadness in that. With the song, you stayed in key the entire time (hooray!) but it sounds like the break in your voice from head voice to chest voice and vice versa got in the way a little bit, as if you can't go that high in your chest voice. That's perfectly okay. I'm looking for a good head voice for Little Asriel, and yours is soft and sweet! Thanks for auditioning!

Thank you very much. I was aware of the voice crack (which I scolded myself for after recording) and it's due to my voice cracking at random times. It doesn't normal happen when I sing, but in this case it did. I'm glad that you liked my audition and will be sure to watch my transition in singing.
