Blair is a 3rd rate actor. He tries his best in performances, but his best is never good enough. Because of this he always gets side-lined to non acting roles, supressing his resentment each time. He is formal with authoritative figures because of his need for appraisal and secretly hopes that this dynamic will land him with a decent acting role. 

  • (Treading lightly on subject) Miss Cooke. I get the idea of modernising the play... But why do we still have to speak in this archaic language?

  • But Miss Cooke. I have been working really hard on this.


  • (Performing) A villainous duns upon the letter! Knavish exposition! Look you then here sir: (pointing to letter) "we'll get thee out by a trick," says he.
