(Note: Although Matoro is canonically male, I have left the role open to both male and female actors, since female actors, at least in my personal opinion, can do very convincing "young boy" voices, and I didn't want any prospective female actors to be put off by the character's canonical gender.)

Matoro (pronounced muh-TOHR-oh) is a Ko-Matoran who serves as Turaga Nuju's interpreter. He speaks the language of the bird Rahi like his Turaga due to his previous experience as a Rahi trader. He is quiet and keeps to himself, mostly because of all the secrets he knows. He's very protective of his friends, and wants to help others. He sometimes feels that he is inferior to the other Ko-Matoran due to him merely being a translator, while the others have fighting skills.
