Lotus was one of the Wing Masters, former commander of the Black Mage and Orchid’s twin sister. Lotus was originally a shadow spirit with her sister Orchid, before the White Mage (before corrupted into the Black Mage) found them, granted them human form in exchange for their services to him. While Orchid was excited and curious about this, Lotus was uncertain and cautious. During the war, the Black Mage sent Orchid and Lotus to assassinate the empress of Ereve, Aria, under the guise of negotiating terms of peace. This enraged Aria's lover, Phantom, to which he mercilessly beat Lotus putting her into a deep coma. Later a scientist named Gelimer promised Orchid he could awaken Lotus, in exchange for helping him power the military warship Black Heaven. Little does Orchid know, Gelimer had shut off Lotus' brain and had brainwashed her, using her to power Black Heaven. Under Gelimer's gas, Lotus experienced a lot of pain and paralysis, sapping away her willpower. Lotus, under Gelimer's control, is eventually defeated by the player, and after thinking she could finally be together with her sister Orchid, Gelimer kills Lotus for good for her failure. Before Lotus dies, she gives Orchid all of the power they shared, wanting her to happy like she always wanted.
