Lucid, aka. Queen of Nightmares, is an elf of the Elluel Village, and friends with Athena Pierce and Danika. The three practiced archery together. But no matter how hard Lucid tried, her archery skills wouldn't improve. Lucid was desperate to have queen Mercedes' attention, and to prove herself. Then, when practicing alone late at night, Lucid fell asleep and dreamt she was performing exceptionally well at Archery, even earning Mercedes' attention. That's when she woke up and realised, she had the power to manipulate dreams, effectively what she and others perceived as reality. Jealousy crept up on Lucid however, and after seeing all her friends recruited for war but not her, she ran away from Elluel, isolating herself with her dreams in a cave. Then, after the Black Mage's sealing, his freezing curse struck Elluel, all of the elves as well as Lucid were frozen. However, thanks to her ability, Lucid kept herself awake living in her dreams, driving Lucid to insanity. In one dream, she encounters the Black Mage who offers Lucid power, a new world and freedom from her icy slumber. Lucid accepted and became a commander of the Black Mage, bringing her madness to the world. Lucid peers into her master's mind however and discovers the Black Mage wants to destroy everything including himself, so she fled him and created her own city in the Arcane River known as Lachlein: The Dreaming City. The festivities, smells and scents of wines, roast dinner, and sparklers burning and sizzling attracted many people whom she turned into dreamers, trapped in their own little world in Lachlein, where Lucid would kill anyone who tried to wake up. Only those with strong minds could see through her visions. Lucid would reside in the Nightmare Clocktower, where the player would eventually find and defeat her. Lucid became trapped in her own mind. In Glory, after a consultation with the Black Mage's conscious, she is almost consumed by her own madness again when she is saved by Protective Mask, an illusion of Mercedes she conjured before joining the Black Mage, in case anything bad happened to her. Lucid is currently under Alliance supervision in Ereve.
