"Life Happens" - An Upcoming Anime Series
BenAwtryVO for Jonathan Schultz
Jonathan Schultz is a student of Primrose High. He towers over the entire student body at nearly 7 feet tall, and is built like a muscular Shonen character. However, when he was a little kid, he was constantly bullied by one particular person. For the sake of plot spoilers, this person shall go unnamed. The bullying Jonathan went through had such an impact on him, he spent every waking moment training himself and getting stronger to defend himself against people like his childhood bully. In addition, he hit quite a growth spurt, adding to his imposing presence. That being said, he is still the coward he was when he was a kid, particularly when he comes face to face with the person that made his life a living hell. When he gets angry, it shows in his voice, but there's still a hint of restraint and cowardice even behind his most threatening lines.
Any voice will do for this character, as well as any accent. The interpretation of this character's voice is up to you. We are looking forward to hearing them.
[These are lines that show Jonathan's cowardice, despite his physical appearance and strength.]
(cowardly, in a scared tone) "O-Oh my God. I-I'm so sorry."
(cowardly, in a pleading and panicked tone) "What?! N-No! Please don't write me up!"
[These lines show that Jonathan is quick to judge someone based on their present actions, without considering the context. And maintaining that belief despite clearly being shown that his reaction is unjustified.]
(in a low, angered tone) "I'm a firm believer in the notion that people can change! But not when it comes to you! You're just as mean and hurtful as you were back then."
(in an angered tone) "This is all your fault. I hope you're happy with yourself."
[A line that shows Jonathan opening up to a person that has bullied him for years.]
"Yeah, you were. And you continue to hold your power over those who don’t have the confidence to stand up for themselves. Your 'friend' act won‘t fool me. Not anymore. After dealing with your constant taunts and abuse, I forced myself to change. I forced myself to be better, so I can defend myself and others from narcissistic, sociopathic pricks like you."
This is a really good audition. The line delivery and pacing are on point, and the emotions are well-delivered. Great job on this audition. We will take it into consideration.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you like it.
