Wicked: The Complete Genderswap
AngeliqueSingsVA for Wizard of Oz (singing voice)
The mysterious Wizard is the reigning figure of Oz and is eventually revealed to be Elphaba's parent. In the biggest deviation this project has from the musical, the Wizard knows she is Elphaba's biological mother right from the start rather than realizing it only at the end. She was prepared to keep him, but after he was born and the baby was green, she left him on the doorstep of his father to raise him with his wife, the Governor. Despite giving him up, she harbors a sense of pride for the man he has become and is truly happy to finally meet him when he comes to see her in the Emerald City, though she does not tell him that she is his mother. Together with Mr. Morrible, she tries to get Elphaba to use his power to keep the Animals in Oz from speaking out or even being able to talk at all. She has a good heart, but it is ultimately warped with a twisted sense of ideals. The Wizard is truly devastated when she learns of Elphaba's demise and the fact that she helped lead him to it and readily agrees with Glinda's punishment that she leave Oz forever.

"I am a sentimental man
Who always longed to be a father
That’s why I do the best I can
To treat each citizen of Oz as son
Or daughter
So Elphaba I’d like to raise you high
‘Cause I think everyone deserves the chance to fly!
And helping you with your ascent
Allows me to feel so parental.
For I am
A sentimental man!"

It’s part of my name!
And with my help you can be the same…
At long, long last receive your due
Long overdue
Elphaba, the most celebrated
Are the rehabilitated
There’ll such a whoopdee doo!
A celebration throughout Oz,
That’s all to do with you!"
