Wicked: The Complete Genderswap
Rudrose for G(a)linda Upland (singing voice)
Galinda is your typical spoiled rich kid. He is adored by everyone who meets him, with the exception of Elphaba, his unexpected and unwelcomed roommate. He is a bit of an airhead, but for the most part, he is also kind and caring. After Fiyero arrives, he immediately captures her attention and the two of them go to the party at Shiz together. Galinda intentionally tries to humiliate Elphaba, but after Elphaba convinces Mr. Morrible to accept him into his sorcery class, Galinda feels terrible and rectifies the situation by saving him from embarrassment at the party. Afterward in their room, Galinda helps Elphaba gain confidence and feel handsome for the first time in his life. Galinda changes his name to Glinda out of "respect" for their professor, Doctor Dillamond, who was taken away from Shiz. He later becomes an Ozian official under the Wiizard and tries to keep the peace while everyone searches for Elphaba who has been painted out to be a villain. He becomes engaged to Fiyero (without her full consent), but is crushed to find out that she actually has feelings for Elphaba. Glinda later finds Elphaba and tells him that he has changed his life for the better before watching Elphaba "die" at the hands of a little farm boy from Kansas. He never finds out that Elphaba and Fiyero have survived, but he strives to make Oz a better place in their memory.

"Let us be glad,
Let us be grateful,
Let us rejoicify that goodness could subdue
The wicked workings of You-Know-Who!
Isn’t it nice to know
That good will conquer evil?
The truth we all believe’ll by and by
Outlive a lie
For you and..."

"Don’t be offended by my frank analysis
Think of it as personality dialysis
Now that I’ve chosen to become a pal, a sister
And adviser
There’s nobody wiser
Not when it comes to popular
I know about popular
And with an assist from me
To be who you’ll be
Instead of dreary who you were
Well, are
There’s nothing that can stop you
From becoming popular…
Lar!
La la la la
We’re gonna make you popular!"
