Turnabout: An Ace Attorney Musical
PhilShoe for Dick Gumshoe
30M, baritone. RANGE: G2-D#4
Scruffy detective leading investigations. Loyal to Edgeworth. A bit of a bumbling fool, but has a giant heart and is firm in his beliefs.
(harshly)
Homicide Detective Dick Gumshoe, see? We’re investigating a little tip we got from the hotel across the street, pal. Don’t neither one of ya move an inch!
(reassuring)
Aw, no, pal, he doesn’t think that! See, you just have to learn to speak Mr. Edgeworth’s language! Like, when he says, “I should dock your pay, Detective,” what he means is “I know you can do better, Dick!” And when he says, “Get out and leave me alone!” what he’s trying to say is “I’m feeling really down and could use some extra support!”
(beat.)
...And when he says “You’re irresponsible and foolish,” what he means to say is “Thanks for sticking your neck out for me, pal.”

We would love to hear another run at this if you have a chance! The character voice is great but the gravel is a bit too much on the singing.
I’d love to! Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, did you just want me to take out the gravel on the singing parts or the whole thing all together?
Thanks so much! I would say to make sure the singing and speaking sound consistent, maybe just dial it back a little in general? :) Thanks for your reply!
