Kate is a loving daughter that grew up going on ‘Ghost hunts’ with her friend Carl Ross. She takes care of her mother Beth who is sick from a mysterious disease that took her father's life. Kate realizes that there is something supernatural that is bringing upon this sickness and without thinking twice ventures out to take care of it once and for all.
Kate becomes a monster in the second part of the season as Slenderman (the administrator) has taken control of her body.
